presentation
Jorge Hampton, Emilio Rivoira. 1995.
| In these last ten years we have consolidated a way of
thinking,of working and of generating work.
Regarding our ideas, we have developed and open set of
referencesor patterns tending to conform a design attitude
rather than a fixed system of principles.
These references make us value the global context of
a project more than the resultant object.
Understand diversity to be a virtue offered by different
realities.
Seek a natural organization as superior to an arbitrary order.
Assume ourselves as process and not style architects.
Investigate a natural and not artificial expression of techno-
logy.
Ponder on the lessons of tradition and not on the imitation
of history.
Try to quality the obvious instead of quantifying the criptic.
Believe in evolution and disbelieve in avantgardism.
Have a service attitude over and above prestige concerns.
Base our identity on appropiate locality rather than submission to foreigness.
Our architecture is the result of a work process with strong
teamwork energy more than gestures of illuminated
talents.
This has taught to us to be versatile and incorporate the Client as a positive actor in our process.
This is the key to our aesthetic approach.
As for influence, we would only mention The timeless way of
building, the master work by Christopher Alexander.
We hoped to fulfill the challenge once raised by our friend
RoloSorondo when saying that he hoped that our pencils
shall remain of true wood and never of shining gold.
